I currently work at Riot Games as a Video Director within the Publishing team. I lead the creative on video projects that reach millions of players across the Riot Games portfolio, including the games League of Legends, VALORANT, and Teamfight Tactics. I also manage the video editing, sound mixing, and gameplay capture teams within the central Marketing Creative Services team, providing mentorship, creative feedback, and management direction. My goal is to challenge and grow the artists who work under me so they can create uniquely resonant, cinematic stories for our audience.
Previously, I worked as a lead video editor for about a decade. On the side, I developed post-production software for both internal pipelines and public use. I was the author of Subvert, a subtitling utility for Final Cut Pro X that was available on the Mac App Store, and I was the author of Pipeline, an open-source Swift framework for easily creating and modifying FCPXML files.
My professional work in film production began in 2007. From 2007 to 2010, I produced a variety of television and web commercials and corporate videos for clients such as Coca-Cola, Honda, and Comcast. In addition, I made several short fiction and documentary films, many of which have screened at film festivals and cultural events across the country. From 2010 to 2011, I taught undergraduate video editing and motion graphics at the Art Institute of California – Hollywood. I was also formerly the co-director of the Los Angeles Korean International Film Festival from 2005 to 2006.
I received my Master of Fine Arts degree in film production from the USC Graduate School of Cinematic Arts in 2007. I also completed a program in Advanced Character Animation Studies from Animation Mentor in 2011.
In my spare time, I enjoy 3D printing, mini painting, and spending time with my wife and son.
